When was the last time you had to send a fax?

The opportunities are  fewer and farther between when I am requested to fax something. With all the technology available, if every organization would choose to, we could almost be paperless in many areas.  The only paper bill received to my home and/or company is for city water.  All other bills are now sent by email and available online when we log in.  This should be no different with all of our communications.  While most word processing applications   can now save documents in to a .pdf file, you may want to produce your own .pdf’s from pictures, scanned images, etc.  Here are two FREE apps to take advantage of, that should be accessed and available on your team’s computers:

1. Cute PDF is the free version of commercial PDF creation software. CutePDF Writer installs itself as a “printer subsystem”. This enables virtually any Windows applications (must be able to print) to create professional quality PDF documents – with just a push of a button!  Installation requires the following also: GNU Ghostscript is an open-source interpreter for the PostScript language and the PDF file format.

2. FaxZERO lets you send a fax for free to anywhere in the U.S. and Canada.  Simple fill in the fields, and attach your .doc or .pdf.  Great service as needed.  And in case you have a customer that doesn’t know how to scan and email a document to you (there are still some out there) remember to setup your FREE Efax account.  You will be provided your own fax number, but the fax will come to your email.

So what websites and software allow you to be successful?

Having had success running a company and organization with a low budget mindset, I have been asked to share what services we utilize to keep us going and growing. As I think of the connections, software and services, I will be posting them on my Links page near the middle bottom as FREE and PAID. Check out the list to see how many you already use.
